Information!
nicollette abernethy
I get my strength from my mother and the fact that I live on a cattle ranch. Just because I'm a country girl doesn't mean I won't kick your ass if I have to.
Don't touch my necklace and we won't have any problems. No, I won't take it off myself so don't even ask. Why? I have my own reasons. Let just say some old legends are true. Which ones? You'll have to figure that out yourself.

background
Nicollete is the daughter of a Scottish woman and a Cajun man. While Nicollete doesn't know the name of her father, she does know that her mother, Marsaili, lived an incredibly long life. An inhumanly long life.
It didn't come out until her early teens that Nicollete and her mother weren't human. It turns out that Marsaili was a Kelpie that was kept as a pet in a Scottish family until they immigrated to the United States. Upon getting her bridle back (she never did elaborate on how that happened), Marsaili spent many years living in the Louisiana Bayou, luring people to their deaths like any good Kelpie would do. That is, until she met Nicollete's father.
Nicollete never knew her father's name, just that he was killed in a drunk driving accident when she was just a baby. She got her first name from him, but her last name from her mother. They moved around quite often as she grew up, as certain accidents would happen around her and water that she couldn't explain. She eventually ended up in a small town in South Texas, running a small cattle ranch.
